Monarch "Dead men Tell No Tales" 2CD CBR59

Hailing from the picturesque Northern Basque Country of France, MONARCH! unleash a slow motion avalanche of impossibly glacial, blackened sludge and hypnotic feedback, each song a series of epic tarpit riffage stretched out eternally over lumbering drums and the cavernous rumble of speaker cabinets. Over these yawning expanses of black void appears the demonic, throat-shredding shrieks and ghostly singing of Emilie, whose petite appearance belies one of the harshest throats in the underground Doom spectrum. Beyond heavy. MONARCH!'s mega-crawling ambient doom/drone/sludge follows in the grand tradition of fellow tarpit adventurers Melvins, Corrupted, Noothgrush, and Black Sabbath, and accompany their music with an iconoclastic design style that decorates their material with deceptively cute imagery drawing from the collective influence of Sanrio, Japanese animation, European graffiti, weirdo hardcore, and skateboard culture.
This double CD set contains both MONARCH!'s newest album Die Tonight, and the now out-of-print Speak Of The Sea LP, both released in limited vinyl editions as European imports, with additional unreleased songs exclusive to this release. The North Amercian version of Dead Men Tell No Tales is presented in an offset-printed, 4-panel case printed by Stumptown Printers, with all new original artwork in the band's unique design style.
Ville Moskiitto "Retkikertomuksia" CDr BF019
Ville Forss' Moskiitto alter-ego returns with his most acoustic based opus to date. Out go the prepared electric-guitar and cavernous organ drones, to be replaced by creaking bowed and scraped strings, taking the listener out of the caves and into dark snow-clad forests, with a sawing and clattering free-folk sound closer in spirit to his fellow countrymen Anaksimandros and Vapaa. The album features cover art by Forss himself, is housed in vinyl slip cases and is limited to 100 copies.
Mourning Cloak
"Beyond" CD IC002

Mourning Cloak "In Dreams You See" CD Mindfield01

Nadja "Desire in Uneasiness" CD cbr65

Following a wave of recent reissues and re-recorded versions of older CD-R titles, Desire In Uneasiness is an album of all new material from the acclaimed Canadian dreamsludge weavers Nadja. Five colossal jams of eternally-fuzzy, ethereal dirge that are powered by the interlocking bass guitars of Leah Buckareff and Aidan Baker, who set loose a wave of monstrous grinding bass riffs amidst a fog of beautiful, swirling electronic effects. Desire also marks the first Nadja album to feature a live drummer in place of the drum machine programming that has driven the band's previous recordings, and the difference in the band's sound is apparent from the first crushing beats of album opener 'Disambiguation'. The organic drumming here takes Nadja's music into new realms of spacious jazzy exploration, dubby rhythms and cavernous psychedelia, while also delivering some of the band's most grooving, crushing hypno-bliss yet. Desire also stands out from the rest of the Nadja catalog for it's bizarre artwork that Aidan commisioned from his friend The Reverend Aitor. Aitor's bright, bold lines and textured magic marker artwork gives the gatefold jacket we've presented this disc in the look of a twisted children's book on acid, with weird images of chickens, trees growing through chairs, and more. The package is a sturdy 4-panel gatefold jacket printed by Stoughton, and it looks killer.
The Nihil Project "Plough Plays" CDr BFWWW1

The Nihil Project is an open collective devoted to psychedelia, musical experimentation and artistic avantgarde who have released two albums to date. They are based on a core duo of Antonello Cresti and Andrea Gianessi from Italy. They collaborate with a wide range of artists and on this album have worked with a number of musicians from Britain such as the ex-Blossom Toes Brian Godding, Sedayne, The Anvil, Gav Dunn, The Kitchen Cynics, Orph and LSD from Electronic Voice Phenomena and Simon Lewis of The Phoenix Cube. The album title comes from our shared love of the informal, rough plough plays in January still performed in the East Midlands. Performers drawn from the population, hidden by guises telling ancient scripts they cannot know the primitive sources of. We couldn't imagine a more fitting concept. On this album they focus on British folk music and folklore interweaving their own songs and lyrics with traditional sources. The band is fascinated by folklore and folk customs, Antonello visits the UK regularly and has written a book about England and Wales. So they are well placed to make an album almost custom designed to appeal to all psychedelic folk fans. Their music is based on folk but is deeply psychedelic and also incorporates space electronics. This CDR is limited to 150 copies, packaged in jewel cases.
The North Sea "Underneath the Jesus Tree" CDr BF013
Recorded in the summer and autumn of 2004 in various locations around Tulsa, Oklahoma, "Underneath The Jesus Tree" is the latest addition to a prolific string of CDR releases from Digitalis Industries main-man Brad Rose's solo improvisational psych-folk project The North Sea. Drawing from an arsenal of bouzouki, guitar, melodica, maracas, sleigh bells, violin, bongos, oud, tin flute, recorder, piano, kalimba, wine glasses, glockenspiel, bowed guitar and field recordings, Rose holds court to the woodland dawn chorus and channels nature's mystic forces through the leaves and feathers of his botanic and avian subjects. Johann Wlight contributes a recording of North Sea waves crashing on Dunwich Beach, featured on the track "High Tide". The album is limited to 200 copies, packaged in white digipacks featuring stunning cover-art by George Parsons of Dream Magazine, contains a full colour insert.
Diana Obscura CD mini-album... Obs01
The debut release from Diana features 7 songs of dark, experimental gothic-folk and neo-Celtic. Diana has toured with Jarboe (of the Swans), recorded with Backworld, and even provided backward vocals for the first Mourning Cloak 7"! Both traditional and original songs are tackled here with arrangements for cello, voice, guitar, recorder, etc.
